Si, Frugo Mercator importante nave “Research And Survey Vessel” per l’ambiente mare, ha fatto sosta davanti Porto Santo Stefano ed è stata documentata da Artemare Club con la collaborazione del bravo e simpatico fotografo Andrea Busonero per l’Archivio storico navale custodito presso la sede dell’associazione. Racconta il comandante Daniele Busetto la nave è stata costruita nel 2003 e naviga sotto la bandiera delle Bahamas, la sua lunghezza fuori tutto è di 42 metri e la sua larghezza è di 10 metri, è 67 tonnellate, si occupa della mappatura di praterie di Posidonia e Cymodocea nodosa, nell'ambito del progetto “PnrrMer”, l'attività viene svolta grazie ai sistemi all'avanguardia di cui la nave è dotata, con l'utilizzo anche di un SeaCat, sganciato e recuperato dalla nave stessa, oltre a rilievi lidar bathymetry sistema di sensori che consentono la raccolta di dati topografici e batimetrici ad alta risoluzione e indagini geofisiche. Tipo di nave per la protezione del Mare Nostrum sempre più in pericolo all’Argentario per l’over cruising ultimamente con l’esponenziale incremento di soste di navi da crociera, note specialmente quelle varate diversi anni fa per essere inquinanti con le loro emissioni sotto costa e pericolo per i cetacei, parole di Artemare Club e di tutti coloro che amano salvare l’ambiente per i figli e i loro figli!
